Booking a car with Nationwide is easy!

There are three ways to book your New Zealand rental car:

Online – the easiest way to book

  1. Simply select your pickup and dropoff dates, times and locations from the booking box to the left. Click “Continue”.
  2. Select the rental car you wish to book. Click “Continue”.
    “Book and Confirm Now” status means that the rental vehicle is available and can be confirmed instantly.
    “Request This Car” status means that the availability for that rental category is limited so your booking needs to be checked by our reservations staff before confirming.
  3. Select any extras you require by ticking the appropriate box. If you require more than one item of a particular extra type the quantity required. Click “Continue”.
  4. Enter your name and contact details.
  5. Enter your pickup and dropoff information and ferry crossing details. These assist our staff who will arrange transfers for you when you are collecting your vehicle, as well as arranging vehicles for you in both the North and South Islands if applicable. Click “Continue”.
  6. Enter your credit card details. If your hire is confirmed a 10% deposit will be charged to secure your booking and the balance is payable when you collect your rental vehicle. The information is sent securely. Click “Continue”.
  7. A summary of your reservation will be emailed to you.

How to book multi-sector hires and save!

Save money with Nationwide’s multi-hire option. Multi-sector hires can be combined so you take advantage of the overall cheaper daily rate provided the gap between sectors is no more than 72 hours. For instance, book a rental car from Christchurch to Dunedin for 11 days. Fly to Auckland. Then book a rental car in Auckland for three days. Once booked simply contact us to have the cheaper 14 day rate applied for your whole hire. Please note minimum hire periods still apply for each sector.
