Nationwide’s Picton car rental office is located at 11 Auckland Street, only 300 metres from the Interislander ferry terminal.

Free transfers can be arranged from the ferry terminal and all hotels/motels within 10 kilometres of the office. The Soundsair shuttle arrives and departs near our office.

Take advantage of our free interisland changeover when travelling between the South and North Islands.

Collecting your rental car

  • Car Rental Depot: 11 Auckland Street.
  • Interislander Ferry: A representative will welcome you in the arrivals area. If you are unable to locate him/her please phone 0800 244 732 (free from a public telephone). We will transfer you from the terminal to our branch to collect your vehicle. Bluebridge ferry passengers should take the free Bluebridge shuttle to our office.
  • Accommodation: please phone 0800 244 732 for collection. You may like to phone earlier to re-confirm arrangements directly with our branch.

On departure

Please allow sufficient time to call at the depot to drop your vehicle off to us and allow for time to inspect the vehicle and transfer time to the airport. Most international airlines require that you check in at least 2 hours before flight departure to complete formalities. If you have arranged an early drop off at the airport (prior to our opening hours), please confirm the details and instructions for the early drop off with Nationwide when you pick up your vehicle.
