About Nationwide Rental Cars

Operating from the Bay of Islands, Nationwide Rental Cars is one of New Zealand's largest locally-owned and operated rental car companies.

Established by Kay and Peter Petersen in 1989, Nationwide now employs a professional team of reservations and branch staff at 12 locations throughout New Zealand including the Bay of Islands, Auckland, Rotorua, Palmerston North, Wellington, Picton, Greymouth, Christchurch, Queenstown and Dunedin.

Nationwide has welcomed over half a million leisure travellers to New Zealand from every continent for the past 19 years. Nationwide offers one-way rentals between all locations and unlike its larger competitors does not charge "premium location" fees at its major centres. Operated centrally, not via franchises, Nationwide's customers are guaranteed a consistently high level of service and superior vehicle quality.

Nationwide operates a fleet of over 1,000 of the latest rental cars ranging from small compacts to medium/large sedans, 4WD wagons, people movers and minibuses. Nationwide's fleet is regularly updated and includes standard features such as power steering and air conditioning.

In 1998, Nationwide started Ezi-Rent Car Hire. Ezi-Rent provides three to six year old vehicles ideally suited for the budget-minded traveller. Ezi-Rent customers experience the same great service as Nationwide's at the same 12 locations. Nationwide is proud to work with two local rental car firms: Link Low Cost Rentals and Jackie's Rental Cars - both servicing the local rental car market.
